FinWise · Financial spreading & analysis
From the filing to the figure. From the figure to the reason.
FinWise spreads every financial table into a standardized, comparable series, then explains every movement, grounded in the passage of the report that accounts for it.
Capabilities
What FinWise does.
A comparable series
A multi-year series for one company, and like-for-like comparison across companies and sectors.
Nothing left pending
Every row ends up explained or not explained. Nothing is skipped.
Like for like, always
A half-year is never measured against a quarter. Mismatched comparisons are refused.
Two outcomes, never a third.
The report accounts for the change. The passage that does is attached, with its page number and the sentence highlighted.
The report was searched and nothing accounts for the change. That is a finding in its own right, because silence in a filing is information.
Verification
Three verification passes
- Pass 1 · Numerical
Do the numbers hold?
Every figure is checked against the series in code, not by a model.
- Pass 2 · Attribution
Is the claim actually supported?
Each claim is traced to a cited passage, and a sentence resting on nothing fails.
- Pass 3 · Consistency
Does it contradict anything?
Checked against cited passages, sibling lines and the prior period's commentary.
All three clear: published as it stands. A pass fails: shown and flagged, with the failing check named in the analyst's own terms.
2024-FY 289,600 → 2025-FY 307,400 (USD millions)
“Cost of sales rose primarily on higher product and shipping costs from increased sales volume, partially offset by operational efficiencies.”

What is FinWise?
FinWise is AI financial spreading and analysis from Cogniquest. It spreads every financial table into a standardized, comparable series, then explains every movement, citing the passage of the report that accounts for it. It's built for credit and lending analysts, investment research, advisory and corporate finance teams.
How does FinWise spread complex financial statements?
It extracts line items and values from every table, however complex: nested headers, split columns, multi-period layouts and footnoted rows. Currency and scale are set per table, and each line item is mapped to a standard taxonomy, so different labels become one measure.
How does FinWise explain changes in the numbers?
FinWise comments on every change, year on year, half on half or quarter on quarter. Each explanation carries its page, and one click opens the report at the highlighted sentence.
What happens if the report doesn't explain a change?
Every row ends up either explained or not explained, never a third outcome. Not explained means the report was searched and nothing accounts for the change, which is a finding in its own right, because silence in a filing is information.
How does FinWise verify its analysis?
Three passes run before anything is published. Numerical: every figure is checked against the series in code, not by a model. Attribution: each claim is traced to a cited passage. Consistency: checked against cited passages, sibling lines and prior-period commentary. A failing check is flagged and named.
Can FinWise compare companies?
Yes. It builds a multi-year series for one company and like-for-like comparisons across companies and sectors. Mismatched comparisons are refused: a half-year is never measured against a quarter.
